Westminster News - Wine Night, Staff Announcements & more...

WELCOME, MADELEINE & DOMINIQUE

Westminster Lawyers is pleased to announce that Madeleine Magee and Dominique Mavroyeni have joined our team.

Madeleine joins Westminster Lawyers from a boutique family law and estate firm, where she gained broad experience, enabling her to advise and assist clients across the requisite areas of family and estate law. She has also worked as a research assistant for a prominent Queens Counsel who specialises in Taxation Law and Administrative Law. These areas exposed Madeleine to areas of law that often arise as ancillary issues in both family and estate matters. Outside of work, Madeleine plays mixed netball, attends horse racing meetings with her family and friends, tries new restaurants and is presently learning Italian. Madeleine can also speak French.

Dominique commenced her legal career in general practice before shifting her focus several years ago to work exclusively in family law. Her background in property law, trusts law, taxation and commercial law equips her to consider cases from various angles and assists in her approach to family law matters. Dominique is a member of the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce & industry and speaks and writes fluent Greek. During her spare time, Dominique likes outdoor adventures, travelling, trying new restaurants & wine bars, and online shopping!

We are thrilled to welcome Madeleine and Dominique and look forward to them furthering their careers at Westminster Lawyers.

WESTMINSTER WINE NIGHT

Each year Westminster Lawyers hosts a wine tasting event for friends of the firm to hear from and taste wine from particular winemakers. This year, the event was held at Syracuse Restaurant & Wine Bar, with tasting conducted by Oakridge Wines. It was fabulous to have David Bicknell, Chief Wine Maker, share anecdotes and stories with us, while tasting and talking about wine.

We are always delighted with how keen and receptive invitees are towards the night, and this year was no exception. We look forward to broadening our knowledge of the wine & food scene with you all at our next “Wine Night”.

THE GOMO FOUNDATION

Westminster Lawyers were proud sponsors of “The Gomo Foundation – A Night of Storytelling”, a photographic exhibition and official launch of the foundation, which was held at Yarra Sculpture Gallery in Abbotsford on 30 May 2017.

The Gomo Foundation works directly with schools in Zimbabwe to provide access to education and challenge societal barriers that stop children from realising their potential.

It was a heart-warming night of storytelling through stunning photos and video footage of life in rural Zimbabwe. The artists documented their visit to Zimbabwe in 2016 where they explored a group of young women chasing their dreams by using education as a gateway to a brighter future.

You can learn more about the Gomo Foundation here.
